THE BIG CHIP FISH FEST!
A Celebration of Selective Harvest to Preserve our Fishing Heritage
Never heard of it? It’s the first ever family fun and fish festival to be held on Lake Chippewa coming on June 21, 2009.
Enjoy a select harvest straight from the lake of largemouth and northern cooked to perfection. Created by George Greenbank, Viet Nam Vet and award winning conservationist, this festival focuses on combining responsible use of natural resources and good old fashioned shore lunch fun for the family. It is sponsored jointly by the stewards of Lake Chippewa Flowage, the Chippewa Flowage Area Property Owners and the Lake Chippewa Flowage Resort Association.
Come alone or bring your family to learn some fish species identification and methods of cleaning and cooking fish. Contribute your catch of qualifying fish, either largemouth bass 14-19” or northern pike under 32” or just come to learn and eat.
This fun is not free, but it is nearly free! Participation buttons are just $3.00 for kids 12 and under and only $5.00 for everybody else. The first 125 children registered will receive a rod and reel combination and a goody bag filled with valuable gifts and coupons.
General raffle tickets will be offered for lots of prizes and you need not be present to win. And every qualifying fish donated will receive a chance for the fisherman’s special prize drawings.
Planning to come? You can purchase your participation buttons ahead of time and even purchase raffle tickets in advance at any full member of the Lake Chippewa Flowage Resort Association www.chippewaflowage.com starting May 2nd.
